Things to know

The 'Hidden' Rules & Transit Realities
• Transit Visas (Crucial): There are no direct flights from India. You will transit through the US, UK, Canada, or Europe. You must possess a valid transit or regular visa for those specific transit regions, or you will be denied boarding at your origin.
• Immigration Form: Must be filled online 72 hours before arrival. Save the digital QR code/receipt or print it out.
• Proof of Accommodation: You must provide an exact address and proof of booking (hotel or Airbnb). Vague answers like "looking for a place" will result in entry denial.
• Financial Adequacy: Officers frequently request evidence of personal support (credit cards or recent bank statements) to prove you can fund your stay.
• Onward/Return Ticket: A confirmed return ticket back to India or your country of residence is non-negotiable.

Strict Local Laws & Safety Risks
• Locals and frequent travelers point out specific nuances that catch many tourists off guard:
• Camouflage Clothing: Strictly illegal. Only the local military can wear camo. Civilians wearing camo clothing, hats, or bags will have them confiscated by customs or police.
• Public Transport (ZRs): Opinions are mixed on the travel forum regarding public vans (ZRs). Some users suggest refusing a ride if the van is already full and the conductor tries to cram you in, as they can drive recklessly. They recommend waiting 5–10 minutes for the next one.
• Safety at Night: Frequent travelers warn against walking alone at night in unlit areas or on dark beaches. Stick strictly to tourist-heavy areas after dark.

Entry Requirements
• Valid Passport: Must be valid for the duration of your stay (though a 6-month validity is widely recommended).
• Onward/Return Ticket: Proof of a return flight or onward travel.
• Proof of Accommodation: Hotel bookings or a place to stay.
• Sufficient Funds: Proof that you can financially support your stay ($100–$150 USD per day).
• Immigration Form: Complete the online immigration and customs declaration form before arrival and keep a digital or printed copy of the receipt.

Important Rules
• No Working: Visa-free entry does not permit employment. A separate work permit or a specialized option like the Barbados Welcome Stamp is required for remote work or long-term stays.
• Immigration Approval: Entry is decided by immigration officers at the border, who hold the final authority to grant a stay duration up to 90 days.
